Heh, I looked on the proposed layouts. I couldn't say they pleased my
eyes.

Actually I think your problem is that you are trying to introduce so
many options. One can argue they are required but look, we have for
example drag&drop threshold and nobody actively complained on this list
that this threshold is too small or too big. It's just ok for a majority
of our users.

The same situation about your motion threshold. can you just select
sensible default and remove both settings altogether. If you still think
they are required, you can just reuse main mouse double click delay
setting as a backoff.
