[Usability] Pls help resolve Motion Threshold bug #543091

Hello,

There is an inconsistency between the layout of the Accessibility tab of the mouse control panel and how the Motion Threshold works:

In fact, the layout suggests that the motion threshold only works for the dwell click, but in reality, it also works for the simulated secondary click. In other words:

- if the simulated secondary click and the dwell click are both disabled, the motion treshold does not have any effect

- if the dwell click is enabled, the motion threshold also works (which is accurately suggested by the layout)

- if the simulated secondary click is enabled, the motion threshold does also work, even if the dwell click is disabled and the motion threshold slider is greyed.

So the motion threshold slider is in fact a feature that is shared between the simulated secondary click and the dwell click; and there is only one value in the program for it. (It is different from the delay slider where there are two values in the program: one for the simulated secondary click and one for the dwell click.)

I have filed a bug for the problem; you might want to have a look at it as there already are a few comments in the bug thread:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543091

I have also tried to create some different more accurate layouts and posted them on the mousetweaks usability page. It is the layouts dated 2008-10-25 and 2008-10-28 at the bottom of the following page:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543091

In the layouts from 2008-10-28, I tried to also take account of
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=554739 . But they have become really huge. I posted them anyway to show the idea of placing the Motion Threshold slider in a shared position between the simulated secondary click and the dwell click. Maybe that the base idea of the shared position is good and I should try to produce a more compact layout; but how?

Thanks in advance for any feedback and help.

Francesco
