Glade audience is developers, who can be expected to have access to
bigger screens. For documentation purposes the screenshot is also very
small.

HIG is just a guideline. If you need to design a 800x600 GUI, it isn't
hard to imagine you need a bigger monitor for the design app to fit
around it. Improving this is of course good, but suggest to focus first
on more user visible programs.
