Re: [Usability] New Sound Preferences and Volume Control

After reading all of this, i got that lots of people use the master
volume control (seating next of the notification area) with the mouse
wheel; somehow i got the idea that maybe the window list applet might
have more use than the simple tool tip it does (or the occasional
small preview in compiz).

My idea is that the window list applet can be improved so that it can
control an application's volume by using the wheel on top of a window
name in the list.

The window name could even show a volume icon (for users without
wheel) that way the user wont even need to change window focus in
order to modify the volume of an application.

The only problem i found is that if windows of the same application
type are grouped together then this control might not be that useful
(or would it!).

I support the idea of the sound control center, but don't want my
computer to control how loud a program should be at any given time,
that option could be activated by a check box, automatic sound on/off;
because i believe that regular people might like it, they might even
find it useful.
Most of the time if i don't like some usability option the public loves it...
