Doesn't this break the primary use-case for sound on a computer, which
is a music player in the background?
Let me then refine it further:
- Sound focus follows selected application (default option)
- Set sound focus on this application
- Remove sound focus
- Mute all applications except the one with the focus
The application with the "sound focus" plays louder than the
others. By default it's the current one, but user can actively put a
"sticky" focus on a single application.
Alternatively, multimedia
players can acquire focus while they are in "play" mode - but this can
be override by the user.
