But they are two different things, so using the same
name for both is not good.
Also, many distros replace the gnome logo, and many
users might not know what 'gnome' is.

I think there is a problem with using the term like
that. Firefox shows a File menu, for example. So there
can't also be a Firefox menu. It's a Firefox menubar
that has several menus.
