Equivalent menu items have been standard in the shortcut menus for Windows text fields since Windows 2000. (Possibly it depends on what language input methods you have installed.)

Actually, if the people I've watched using computers are a representative sample, "the vast majority of the English-speaking world" doesn't use context menus at all.
