[Usability] Escape key

I expected to see an entry to the effect of

|Escape - activate the cancel button (if there is one), 
|         or dismiss the focused dialog box, 
|         or cancel the current operation

Somewhere in HIG's Chapter "Keyboard Interaction", fer example in Table 11, 
"Standard GNOME keyboard navigation keys for widgets".

Is it possible to specify this?  Or am I missing something?
