On that point, as with the button ordering debate (no, I don't want to
start that one again!), also bear in mind that few users are likely to
have a pure GNOME 2.x desktop... so if we make them do something
unnecessarily different in whatever GNOME 1.4/Motif/CDE/OpenOffice/Java
apps they're running, we may just be adding to their confusion. I'd
guess this particularly applies to pre-2.0 and Java apps, which do (or
have the ability to) look a lot like GNOME 2.0 apps with the appropriate
themes applied.
