I tried installing tracker, but could not find a way to configure it (no
gsettings), and got dbus errors. I read on an archived mail conversation
that tracker "ought" to be able to work without X.
It should definitely be possible to install and run Tracker without an X
server, however, at least GLib in Debian Squeeze is too old, you need
version 2.28 or later. Also, you need to launch a DBus session bus,
e.g., by using dbus-launch.
