Hi,

I already studied the question and noticed that the size of the database
could be reduced a lot by not storing the plain text of each document if
your are not interested by FTS.

Disabling fts can already been done easily at ./configure. Some embedded
systems where Tracker is to be deployed are already disabling fts that
way. Check out for example the harmattan branch on gitorious.

Anyway, these are just ideas at the moment. But we're planning to work
on a solution soon.
Philip, it is probably worth pointing out that this is unlikely to hit
0.10.x (unless there's been some change in the ideas here since I last
looked at them).
That's right. Although the current idea that we have in mind stays
backward compatible with the old journal format. So that means that we
could or might bring it to the 0.10 branch if we wanted to.

Notwithstanding is it probably better to keep the improvement to 0.11
only. Indeed.

Philip
