Hi,

Hi,

Was removing the feature of estimating 'the remaining time to index'
removed deliberately? If so, why's that?

The code still exists in libtracker-common. I thought we used this at least in debugging. Looks like we
don't use it though. We currently have a progress % which is actually accurate. We had a lot of complaints
that the estimation wasn't accurate enough before.

I also noted that the output of 'indexing duration' ain't as pretty as
it used to be (EG '124s' as opposed to '2m4s').

Yea, that's easily fixed. We can add an estimation but generally we don't signal it. We can add it to the
logging if you think that would help. I too liked this feature.

Please do, even if not accurate enough. It's good to have 'something'
instead of being in the dark, especially since AFAIR the estimation
wasn't just fixed, but used elasped time and no. of indexed items, to
perform that estimation.
