Updated script attached. There is still not much point in it I guess. People
might as well add a launcher to the panel for the same functionality...
Yea, there really isn't much point to it :-). The idea was that people
could have some sort of indication of how Tracker is doing in the
system tray - something along the lines of Google Desktop for Windows.
A similar stuff is available for Apple Spotlight. See this image [1] in
Italian language.
The text under the blue search bar is: "Spotlight helps you to fast
search in your computer. Spotlight will be available when the computer
contents will be indexed"
The texts near the progress bar are "Indexing: Alex's Powerbook" (above)
and "Evaluating needed time" (below)
yes I will look into tarting this up - the os/x stuff looks cool
If anybody comes up with ideas, I'd be glad to try to make a
cool-looking icon. Anyways, I think it's better than what's currently
on the Tracker website (a looking glass with a T inside it, lol :-))
Try to ask at next Tango Friday (11/10) :-)
Send an email to Andreas Nilsson to include tracker in the list of
applications that need an icon
http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Fridays
thats a good idea although the looking glass we are using is from tango.
What would be nice is an icon that animates when tracker is busy indexing
