not really - no existing modules may gain a mono dependency so nautilus or other parts of gnome wont be able to be tied to Beagle directly.

Hum... Mono has been accepted as a gnome module...
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/devel-announce-list/2006-August/msg00000.html

yeah I know but existing apps already in Gnome may not depend on mono without asking on d-d-l. This is to prevent Mono becoming embedded in Gnome such that it cannot be removed later on.

It also means that core apps like Nautilus, Panel and others will never be allowed to depend on mono.

So its only a compromise to allow the odd mono app in for stuff where there is no equivalent C/python program available. Thats obviously not the case wrt Tracker :)

We will be doing emails and logs as soon as I have finished adding the new full text indexing framework (which will not use mysql for the full text indexing part as its not scalable enough for very large contents like millions of emails).

I will post more on this shortly.
