Apparently if do not want to get the whole edit history then
you may prefer to do

     svn co http://svn.gnome.org/svn/sawfish/trunk

or maybe give '-r HEAD' to 'co'.

Only that command seems to reset all file dates to a date of
a retrieval.  Is any way to prevent such disaster? 'svn help co'
does not seem to suggest anything.
