Using standalone app

Hi there!
I using rygel as Media Renderer to show up images/videos/music sended
via mobile devices. But usability is extremely low, for example, I can't
zoom image, and use a lot of other features. Can I use rygel to forward
content to standalone apps, like VLC or EOG?
