Hi!
I'm a big fan Rhythmbox and I like the cover "viewer" very much.
Case:
In my music collection I have the cover image saved as "cover.jpg" and
the back image (back/rear of the CD) saved as "back.jpg". The only way I
can view the back.jpg is to navigate my collection with Nautilus.
Feature request:
Would it be possible to have the cover viewer display the "back.jpg"
when someone click/"mouse scroll" on the cover view area? It would be
nice with some kind of visual effect like vertical "flip" around the
center axis of the image.
Any other suggestion is welcome?
Is there a image standard set for Rhythmbox? I know of cover.jpg? Is
there something like cd.jpg, inlay.jpg, or back.jpg? If not, how about
defining some of these rules?
Its a nice idea, but its hard enough spotting just the front cover as a
file on disc, as there are so many conventions in use.
For internet look up, I thing we are limited to front covers only.
The idea of multiple covers is however handled nicely mp3 ID3 tags,
which are designed to hold more than one cover with a "cover type", see
bug 345975 for details:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345975
The idea of how to cope with multiple covers in the GUI was discussed on
the mailing list if I recall correctly, and the general feeling was that
it was just too complicated - supporting a single cover would be good
enough for most people.
