I don't know if it's fixed yet, if it is, I apologize. Rhythmbox used
to not convert my ogg into mp3 (or m4a) when copying into an iPod.
Maybe if you give me some directions, I can investigate and check if I
can fix it.

(audacity for instance)... But for me rhythmbox works great
