You'll probably find that disabling alsa dmix will fix this. I can
never remember how you're supposed to do this, though.
>From what I understand, dmix is what enables multiple sounds to play at once (for cards that don't support it). Would I really want to disable that?
Also, not to doubt you, but that seems like just a workaround. Is there an underlying (gstreamer?) bug behind this?
