GTK is a piece of software which creates the widgets (buttons, icons,
etc) you use, and it is used by the Gnome desktop. Rhythmbox 0.9
requires version 2.6 (or higher) of GTK and your system only has version
2.4.

Your Fedora Core 4 system will have version 2.6, so you will be able to
use newer versions of Rhythmbox on that.
