Hmm.  I'm reading email offline right now, so I can't check - what is a
"winamp" playlist?  m3u?  Or something else?  Is it really
winamp-specific?  Can winamp not read .pls format?  Do other music
players call it a winamp playlist?

I think I'd rather see this kind of thing integrated with better support
for removable media.  Saving winamp-format playlists along with copying
the music files is kind of specific to your one particular device. 
Ideally what we would have is a menu entry like Playlist->"Copy to
<device name>", and that would handle whatever specific details were
necessary for the particular device.

It is, except we're in string freeze right now.  I had planned to open
up the --0.9 development tree soon anyways, and we can put this stuff
there, along with other things in the pipeline.  Once we release 0.8, we
can backport some things for 0.8.1.
