v2.3 allows latin1 and utf-16 (that's the full two-byte character set,
no?), sorry..  I usually associate "unicode" with "utf-16".  Anyway,
from what I've read, most players/libraries don't deal well with
anything other than latin1 in v2.3 tags, so the "unicode" flag is often
discouraged from use.  v2.4 tags change all of that, of course, allowing
utf-8 and one other utf encoding (I forget which), in addition to the
original two.
