This is the appropriate fix, it's not going to get any better. But I understand if you don't want to ship it 
so close to the deadline.

With 24 hours to go from the cut off deadline for 3.30, I don’t think this is a good idea; this can wait 
for 3.30.1, and might as well use the appropriate fix. Most distros will ship that version anyway.
