No, I was waiting for bug 150910 to be taken care of first because a
few different solutions had been bounced around over the past 5
months--there's no point trying to write a patch that would merely be
thrown out if a different gnome-desktop solution were used.  Besides,
the only new thing to notify them of is a one-liner.  The remainder of
the new nautilus patch needed is just code that's basically identical
to what's needed in 144987--I can use the same hacky workaround that I
did there, or, if someone goes through the work of fixing it correctly
(I tried once but decided to do more fun things) then I can just
mimick that in this new patch.
