Planner-list Problem with "Set day type to" / working days in task view

Hi,

I am new to using planner, and think it looks very promising.

However, I was uncertain about a couple of aspects.

1.
When in the calendar, I cannot select the bullet "Custom Work Time".

However, I can select the bullet "Set day type to" (and "Use working time from derived calendar", if I am in a child calendar).

I run planner-0.14.4 from the windows installer under windows 7 build 7100.

I am not sure what I might be doing wrong.

2.
I encountered the same problem as mentioned in bug report 435939 (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435939), that the work for a task is calculated into working days given the number of working hours in days of the category "working" (or 8h as a default in case they are zero). Since I have different lengths of working days, this poses problems, since the task view gives me wrong results and does not let me retrieve the correct work from the task dialog box.

Would it not be better if the work was kept in a non-changing format, as minutes or seconds (since the length of work days is not necessarily constant in planner)? What is the advantage of calculating into days?

Your help and opinions are greatly appreciated.

/Michael Brandl
