Chiming in to onirm that on my Arch box, I can't get any of the settings dialogs to read with Orca. All it states is layered pane then gets stuck. I only have that and the help, reset, apply, cancel buttons that are visible to Orca
And here's And here's a major major one.
It is not accepting my password even though I am typing it correctly, so it is counting logins as failed an thus locking me out, while also not obscuring my password, and as said up there I can't get to the settings to disable this right now. Which /xml file do I need to poke in to disable this behavior?

When launching kde's default file manager dolphin, it is configured with icons view and shows my home directory arranged in three columns. Moving with left and right arrow keys orca is reporting individual files. Moving with up and down arrow keys the whole row with three file names is reported by orca. Is this a feature or a bug?well its a good question. I bet this is something what done by orca. maybe it detects a table layout and reads the whole line on changing. This might something what joanie can answer. I actually like the idea. But it doesn't announce the current focused element, but only the complete line. this should be change then. But i don't think this is implemented into dolphin.
By pressing the tab key I can move to a control that changes the zoom level and pressing tab key more times seemingly does nothing as if it was stuck at the list of tabs.well the zoom level is one of the last controls in that window. So your issue is that is not jumping to the first controll by pressing tab again?
I can't figure out how to open the menu, popup menu for the selected files or change the view to a list.orca can perform a right click. this is the usual way how a sighted person opens the context menu. on some keyboards there is a menu key on the left side of the right control key on your keyboard.The view could be changed by application menu "View" -> "View Mode" -> select one of them. or by pressing CTRL + 1 (icon mode), CTRL + 2 (compact mode) or CTRL + 3 (list view). the different views have tons of configuration possibilitys (what columns should be shown, do you like a tree view and so on) in dolphins applications settings.
I have tried using alt+enter to open a properties window for selected file. General tab has some unlabelled buttons, only the filename is readable with orca. On the permissions tab all the comboboxes are read. These comboboxes need alt+down to expand but otherwise they are working fine with orca. On the details tab there is a list of properties which is not accessible to orca. The whole properties window is not accessible to orca.yea you are right. this the property dialog seems to be an issue. i will write this down as bug to fix.

yea kate is a lot of work to do.
Some parts of the preferences window are also useable. However I was unable to change the keyboard language and connect to the wireless network with accessibility turned on so I was unable to experiment more with the system.this is something we actively work on. this should be fixed soon. The system settings currently get a lot of love.

I have opened kate a KDE's text editor. While typing it reacted to the new text being inserted. I was able to use left and right arrow key to navigate by character with orca reporting the characters I was passing by. Moving by words by pressing ctrl+left and ctrl+right worked too, however orca did not reported words under the caret. When trying to navigate up and down line by line, There is no LSP server for this document repeating all over again as if focus was jumping somewhere else.
Pressing F11 for full screen seemingly fixed this and I was unable to move line by line. Text selection is reported by orca when holding down shift key and navigating with the arrow keys.
Menu bar is accessible with the alt key and is working all great.
Back to the general KDE.

Newertheless I very much admire how KDE community is very friendly to new comers, people from all over the world. I am looking forward to any improvements we may get in the future. Despite KDE is modern it's lightweight and feels efficient.

KDE changed a lot over the last year. Many accessibility related issues where fixed, but still a long way to go… but we move.
