Orca 41.2 and mate-terminal 1.26.0 running on Fedora-mate 35, I hear
the number spoken every time. I tested from empty screens as well as
full screens, the number is always spoken. I just got an Orca update
yesterday, so I'm thinking it's fixed in this version. I do recall
previous versions having trouble speaking numbers, for example:
echo This is a test | wc -c
didn't always speak the number of characters. But in my current tests
with the orca update, I'm no longer seeing this. Aside from updating
Orca, you can use flat review to work around this. Just use keypad 7 to
review the line above your prompt. Hope this helps.
~Kyle.
