Re: [orca-list] Solus and Orca

I'm about to take a throw at the budgey edition. You might hit f4 once
then run orca --replace and see if that don't get solus mate verbal. With
mate, screen-reader is the actual binary command that runs orca. Nothing
is universal.
Whenever scientists tell you the universe is so many years old, remember
they're really speaking about the observable universe and that universe
gets more observeable every time improved observation instruments go into
operation. Finally, all of this may ultimately be a multiverse.

What desktop is running?
Perhaps try running orca --replace after login and see if speech returns.
If it does, I suspect assistive technology or accessibility settings are
turned off. In earlier versions of mate that could be fixed by using the
f4 toggle once.

Solus has been installed on my laptop.
It speaks before I enter my password but it seems to stop after I have logged in.
I have tried to launch Orca with Windows or Super User S and typed Orca from the run dialogue but no
luck.
I tried connecting my Braille display to see if I got Braille during loggin but my Esys still only
showed the Esys menus.
My girlfriend who is Sighted but doesn?t have as much experience as me with computers and a Learning
Disability had to help me shut down my laptop.
