hey there,
you say when you restore backup using timeshift, it kills orca?
i'll asume you are running timeshift via the gui?
timeshift has a cli interface that you are able to run.
exammple.
to see the list of all snapshots,
sudo timeshift --list
to restore a snapshot,
sudo timeshift --restore 
you will be asked to pick a snapshot number, so you type as an exammple

pressing a
will abort the opperation.
