Re: [orca-list] Focus issue with orca on new flash drive - install as super user

The Debian live installer is not accessible.  The Debian live installer is not the official installer, the official one is accessible.

If you want to try Debian before installing it to your computer, you could use a virtual machine for that purpose.

Best regards,
Alex.

Ok,  is there a live installer of debian? So I can try the distro out before installing? When I was previously trying out different distros, I could never find    a   debian installer that would let me do this.

 Hello all,

Orca can read super-user windows with GTK3 by default or GTK2 with the right options. I just opened a file as root with Orca and it reads it to me.

It is probably an issue of the Ubuntu installer. Recently I was not able to make it to speak. What you can do are:
  • Report the issue to the Ubuntu Mate team to ensure they are aware of this issue.
  • Use another distribution with an accessible installer (for example Debian).

Best regards.

Orca can't read GUI's that are superuser. I'm not sure what you could do, besides launching Orca with the Alt + Windows + S shortcut, maybe that launches it as superuser... or from a terminal do sudo orca. Just things to try, I'm not sure what else.
