Re: [orca-list] KDE Plasma accessibility

Two questions then.
1) can you find what file system is on your mac drive?
2) can you write dnl nash gmail com to find out if linux utilities and a driver exists for your file system? You may end up making lots of expensive obsolete apple hardware not quite so obsolete if you are successful.

Hi there,

I actually tried that iso as well, but nothing yet.

Probably the mac got formatted with one of apple's proprietary file
systems.  If it was actually ntfs3 that's not proprietary to apple and
jenux doesn't yet come with the utilities for that system in its
installation iso yet.  Last Jenux iso update was 2021-02-18 so if that one
hasn't yet been tried maybe it now knows about your file system or maybe
 not.

 Hi Peter and all,

well, saddly, i can't get arch to work, since the installation of arch is
something i don't want to mess with, cause i don't want to mess up this
mac, so that's why i have Debian Sid right now.

Jenux for what ever reason gives me errors about an unknown filesystem,
so, unless anyone kknows of an iso with which i can install arch with out
too much of a fuss, i don't see how i can get it to work. If anyone knows
of an iso like jenux with which i can insall arch without too many
complications, please don't hesitate to reach me privately.

 Thanks for the answers.

 Best regards.

  Hello,

  According to this link:
 https://packages.debian.org/sid/kde/plasma-desktop

Debian SID is still at plasma 5.20.

Arch Linux already has plasma 5.21 and reportedly accessibility fixes
Chrys has mentioned a few weeks ago on this list should be included.

Nice times ahead! I'm going to have a play with it soon.

  Greetings

  Peter

Hello everyone, and sorry for dubble-posting.

A while ago, someone posted that kde was getting some much needed
accessibility improvements in regards to how orca handled the desktop.

Is the version with those accessibility improvements out for Debian
 Sid
and other Linux distroes, or not?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

  Best regards.

  Francisco.
