Vsevolod Popov staggered into view and mumbled:
The alt+shift key is set on my system to switch layout, however that
shouldn't be a problem.
This could be a problem, especially in focus mode. MATE could be
intercepting the alt+shift combination before it gets to the browser.
Try temporarily disabling this to see what happens.
Press insert+z to switch navigation keys behavior. As far as I
understand this combination works as a switcher from browse to focus
mode as in other screen readers. After pressing this command I tried
pressing alt+shift+k and it didn't work.
What actually did happen? Did nothing at all happen, or did you get a
list of links? Orca+z actually toggles the structural navigation keys
such as r/shift+r, b/shift+b, h/shift+h, etc. If Orca is in browse mode
and structural navigation is off, alt+shift+k will do nothing, even in
Google Sheets. If Orca is in browse mode and structural navigation is
on, you will see a list of links when you press alt+shift+k, even in
Google sheets. You may need to toggle focus mode on using Orca+a, or
better, double tap it to make focust mode sticky, but Google Sheets
seems to automatically do this, so you shouldn't have this problem. My
best guess is that your alt+shift keys changing the keyboard layout may
be to blame here. I don't have this set here, and alt+shift+k does work
for me in Google Sheets.
