Re: [orca-list] Change on others internet brausers

To anyone considering giving the "delete .mozilla" suggestion a try:

If Firefox will stay open long enough for you to do so, using alt+b to
open the Bookmarks menu and selecting show all bookmarks will bring up
the bookmarks manager. Once there, alt-i will open a menu with options
to import/export your bookmarks to an HTML file.

also, if you browse to .mozilla/firefox/[bunch of gibberish], you
should find among other things, files named key9.db and logins.json.
These are the files Firefox uses to store saved usernames and
passwords.

exporting your bookmarks to import into a new profile and saving
key9.db and logins.json to copy into the new .mozilla/firefox/[bunch
of gibberish] Firefox makes upon first boot after deleting .mozilla
won't save you the hassle of going through Firefox's preferences and
about:config to set everything to your liking or manually reinstalling
your browser extensions, and you'll have to manually log-in into any
websites you rely on persistent cookies to stayed log-in, but it does
save you the hassle of having to rebuild your bookmarks and saved
log-ins from scratch, which I personally consider the worst aspects of
building up a Firefox profile from scratch.

As an aside, any clue why Firefox defaults to naming profiles [bunch
of gibberish]? instead of asking the user to name the profile?
