Re: [orca-list] Orca master problem, Ubuntu Mate 20.04

Hello,

sorry, that was my issue, I wrote

sudo sh ./autogen.sh

I don't know if that's the issue but in your previous message you wrote that you typed:
sudo sh ./autogen.sh

Don't run autogen.sh as root, instead just type:

./autogen.sh

Please note that this file is executable, so there is no need to write "sh " before.

More generally, don't type any command as root in the source tree other than "make install".

Hello,

I did this too, but in Ubuntu Mate 20.04 I can't do make. In Debian and Raspbian no problem.

Best regards

For your information I just did this here, with no issue:

git clone https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/orca.git
cd orca
./autogen.sh
make
su # to become root in Slint adapt to your distribution
removepkg orca # command to remove the installed orca package in Slint, adapt to your distribution.
make install
keypress Ctrl+D # to become didier
orca &

It works, as hear what I type ;)

Hello

Please answer to the list.

Maybe you didn't read my second message?

Anyway we can't help you without the list of commands I requested.

Best regards,

Didier

      Hello,

most probably you are not typing make from the right directory, i.e. the root of the orca source tree.

Please provide the exact sequence of commands you typed from the beginning, to check.

Additionally this issue is not related to the atk-bridge version.

      Best regards,

      Didier
