Probably an even better idea is to use sshfs to mount the remote machine
on your local host. You can use sshfs to connect to any machine you can
ssh to. You mount your space on a remote machine and it looks just like
a local file system. Then you can sort of fool programs into thinking
they they are working with local files. It's similar to mounting a
network drive in Windows.
