Fortunately I have been successful inn installing Oralux voxin voices, 2 of them on Ubuntu 18.04.
I choose the high version and they are very responsive.
One of them is an Indian English voice and the other is a British English voice.
It is really very good to hear quite natural sounding voices.

Some of us aren't so fortunate because the installation makes assumptions about one's environment that are unwarranted. So, what Linux did you install on? What platform succeeded for you? I'm unable to install on Arch. The error messages aren't very helpful.
