Re: [orca-list] [EXTERNAL] Re: A little clarification regarding VSCode

Correct. Other apps on Mac / Linux behave the same thus we though this is desired behavior.

Please note that you can customize this Prefences > keyboard shortcuts and just assign different shortucts to the following commands: Close Window and Close Editor.

If no editor is open the Close Window will be taken. You can get the state of editors via F1 > focus on open editors view.

We are open to feedback on how to potentially improve this.

Kind regards

Hi,

If the editor is open, ctrl+w closes the editor. Otherwise, it closes the current window/view you are looking at. It is sort of weird they have the same shortcut assigned to different things.

When I am in the editor and activate the menu file, I find two options
with the same shortcut key (ctrl+w), close editor and close window.

Questions:

1. Which of the two options will be executed if I press ctrl + w?

2. How do I identify the action to be taken?

Thanks.
