Right now the fundamental problem is the structural access to pdf.
I think that part is pretty much primitive.
It's a pitty, Ocrizer is only on Hypra systems. That's good for extracting pdf files or it can extract text from jpg too. And it can convert to text too and it's great option.

Evince is accessible, but you will need to press F7 in order to read. Once you press F7, you get a popup to enable caret browsing or similar. Just enable it and you're good. But I do think you will need to do this every time you open it. MATE's Atril document reader works in much the same way.
