Hello,
I upgraded locally to 26bc2f2b, punctuation settings now work as
expected, thanks.
I will do some more tests to check that this version brings otherwise no
regression, then upload the new package to the Slint repository.
Cheers,
Didier

Yes I can reproduce. Currently in Slint punctuation settings are not
honored at all, even when set in the preferences GUI.
But orca is not involved, I think that the issue comes from the default
settings in /etc/speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf modified by
commit 27835c9
Did you try with the latest master? There were more changes in that
regard recently: 76e2d672229bdb4d4e36edfd5ea63fccbcb0027f
