Hi Tom,

It is working partway. I'm still trying to figure out what is  going on. It may be a Mate problem, not an 
Orca problem. My sighted companions are present only 
occasionally, so they can't give much help.

I press t+F7 to get to the deesktop. How would I start an application such as mate-terminal or evolution?
