Re: [orca-list] Slint Demo/Tutorial, Part 2: The Post-install--first steps

VMWare player 5 or Workstation 14

tintin++ 2.x (preferably the newest version)

A working copy of fenrir or espeakup (whatever one is the best)

An accessible desktop... I am more familiar with Mate, but am willint to experiment a little.

Orca, with the ability to build from source when new code is sent to Master.

Ability to update packages when there are new updates.

Ability to install new packages when I have a need for them.

package dependency management by slapt (i.e. I install php, slapt installs all dependencies automatically)

emacspeak with some updated speech server other than espeak. The one from Ubuntu is too quiet.

Libre Office 6.3.x to get most of the accessibility fixes if any are present.

Thunderbird (newest)

Firefox (newest)

python 3.7 and python 3.8

g++/gcc 9.x

bluefish editor 2.10

I want slint to manage my wifi connection (it gives me a list of networks to choose from).

I have an HP 360 convertable w/touch screen, I7 8500U 2.5GHZ x8 processor, 16GB of DDR3 ram, Intell UHD graphics, Intel HD audio sound, 1TB HD, USB 2 and USB 3 ports, micro and standard SD card slots, Aleron touchpad, and HDMI out.

Hi,

I have some fairly specific requirements before running a distro. Do you think you can help me sort out if slint will work for me?
