Re: [orca-list] best desktop for orca on ubuntu 18.04

Ah, Unity,

That was one of the best things which came and went like a dream.

When accessibility was at it's best in Unity, it was the ultimate best
thing to use.

Happy hacking.

A few years ago, I settled on Gnome over Mate and Unity, this was in

it was mostly personal preference. I've been using Gnome ever since,
so I can't really compare it to more recent versions of Mate.

GNOME has been said to be the best desktop with Orca, but I have
found MATE to be more stable and reliable, with more customization
features native to the environment without tweak tools and other
things. It's also lighter weight, so it tends to run faster on more
hardware. That said, it mostly comes down to personal preference,
unless you have hardware or memory constraints. Most machines will
run either just fine, so it depends on which interface you like better.
