Hello everyone
I am having a slight issue with my Braille Display and contracted
Braille. I am currently using a Focus 40 BT with orca Master (v.
3.33.4-pre).
Unfortunately, when I select UK Grade 2 as my preferred option, or
indeed when selecting any of the contracted codes for US or UEB,
contractions do not appear correctly. For instance, under UK Grade II
the 'the' sign appears as a 'ble' or 'number' sign and the 'for' sign
appears as 'were' to give just two examples.
I have upgraded to orca Master to see if there was some issue with my
previous version, but no luck. I have also checked that both BRLTTY and
LibLouis are installed and both seem to be. I ran apt search BRLTTY and
apt search liblouis respectively. However, when I ran 'which' to see
where each was nothing was returned. This makes me think that niehter is
installed despite apt telling me otherwise. But then how could Orca
provide me with any Braille at all if one or other was not installed?
Any assistance with this would be much appreciated please. I have also
looked in gsettings but could not find anything that looked like it
was related to Braille. if Grade II integration is a work in progress i
am happy to read in Grade I though it is as many of you doubtless know,
time-consuming.
Tahnk you
Best wishes
James
