[orca-list] Can someone recommend a good scanner for books that works under Linux, please?

Hello list,

I'm trying to replace my Optik Book 3600 with a good scanner for books 
that sorks under Linux.

Unfortunately, Plustek never released a driver for their scanners. 
Someone made a front-end for my very scanner a few years ago, as a 
university project, but I was never able to get it to work.

I need a scanner for books though, not just any flat scanner.

If any of you have any suggestions/recommendations, I'd be very grateful.

This scanner thing is one of the reasons I could never work seriously 
with Linux. Another one is the fact that I can't download and read 
ebooks with Adobe Digital Editions drm... Or Kindle books on a pc.
