As an aside, I have found that espeak-ng + mbrola is way better
that espeak-ng + the klatt variants (yes I have tried all of them).
So, just install the mbrola voices you need and the mbrola TTS, this
works well with speech-dispatcher-0.9.0.
I use the alternate GenericExecuteSynth command of
espeak-ng-mbrola-generic.conf, as below:
GenericExecuteSynth \
"echo \'$DATA\' | espeak-ng -v mb-$VOICE -s $RATE -p $PITCH $PUNCT -stdin"
Only caveat: this does not allow to set the sound volume from Orca.
But I am very happy with that.
