Re: [orca-list] A new problem related to pads

It turns out that etherpad (or Firefox) is emitting caret-moved events
and selection-change events when you're not on that page. Yay. <insert
eyeroll here> Anyhoo, the good news is that I'm hacking around that now.
The potentially bad news is that it might be a fragile hack that
introduces regressions as we're approaching the stable release of Orca
3.32. :( So please test thoroughly; not just with this particular issue.

Thanks!

Hello Joanie,

I can reproduce this with Firefox 60 and Orca master. We're also
reproducing this with Firefox 52 and Orca 3.24.

The steps I've followed are:
1) Open https://pad.lqdn.fr/p/yunohost-18-12-2018

2) Open https://www.franceinter.fr/emissions/sur-les-epaules-de-darwin?p=8

3) Switch to the pad page from the step 1

4) On the tab, enable the focus mode and move inside the page

5) Switch to the tab of the step 2

6) Switch to navigation mode

Result:
Orca moves on the pad tab

Expected result:
Orca should read the current tab

Are you reproducing this with those steps ?

Best regards,
Alex.

Hi,

1. Go to https://pad.lqdn.fr/p/yunohost-18-12-2018
(please do not chang)

2. Open a new tab or window in Firefox

3. Go to
https://www.franceinter.fr/emissions/sur-les-epaules-de-darwin?p=8

4. Switch to the pad page (alt-tab or ctrl-tab)
5. Switch to the website page

Instead of speaking the website, Orca still stays on the pad in focus
mode. Switching to browse mode, press arrow key, and the caret browses
the pad while Firefox is on the other tab.

Any idea? I use master of FF and Orca. Bug in Firefx? Orca?

Regards
