Re: [orca-list] Orca slowdown with new windows

Hey Jace.

What you describe sounds like either an event flood or AT-SPI2 getting
bogged down. Even though things were still working for you, a full
debug.out might shed some light on things, like did a zillion events get
emitted?

If you can reliably reproduce the problem, I'd love to see the output.
Ideally captured using Orca master.

Thanks!

For example, this is how I noticed it. I was in the terminal, and had
Pidgin open, a new chat window popped up, usual stuff, but Orca
immediately began to lag in the terminal, my focused window. An
alt+tab fixed it, but is this a known issue with just Pidgin or does
it happen with other apps, if you're focused in window 1, and windo 2
is drawn on the screen (f.ex Pidgin chat window appearing)

Can anyone confirm if it's just a Pidgin issue or if other apps cause this?

My environment is Ubuntu 18.04 with all updates applied, with 16 GB
RAM and an i5 processor. I'm not sure if my system plays into it but I
figured I'd include those specs. I don't have a debug.out because
nothing unusual happened, I can still navigate around perfectly fine,
but the sound output appears to lag immensely till there's an alt tab.
