[orca-list] Different app centre in Ubuntu Mate

How do I get the different app centre or software for Ubuntu Mate 18.4?
The Software Bootique which comes with Ubuntu Mate is currently unusable 
with Orca because all you get when you tab through the controls is button 
as they are all unlabelled.
I tried sudo apt install software-centre and even tried spelling the word 
centre the Anlmerican way butbest I got was an error message about not 
being able to find a package or it mentioned an old package or something 
and nothing installed.
