Hi all,
I was able to fix the problem.
In the syslog files I found a brltty error. It had someting to do with "polkit".
I tryed to update my laptop with the following commands:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
Last command told me that I first had to execute another command, but
I did'nt know how to read that command with the flat review.
I tryed the folowing command:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
Afterwards I again runned the command:
sudo apt upgrade
While running that command, suddenly my braille device began to work.
So problem solved.
Kind regards,
Kristof

Hi all,I recently installed Ubuntu 18.04. When I start up, it seems brltty
finds the braille device. When I.m logged in, I can start Orca by pressing
Alt+F2 and typing “orca”. Then I have speech but no braille. I use a Baum
VarioConnect. I tryed to uncomment the baum driver in /etc/brltty.conf but
with no effect.
Does anybody know what’s the problem or how to solve this?
Thanks,
Kristof
