Ah yes. Forgot about MBROLA, which is odd, since I'm working with it specifically, especially for the Arabic voices, where MBROLA is from what I understand the best speech quality available. It's not bad in English either, although it does take some getting used to. Definitely better than GNUSpeech/Gama at this point, which speaks with a rather, um ... different accent, and depending on the voice you choose, speaks either with a lisp or like the end of its tongue is pinched with a small clip LOL.
